What is Sound Healing?

Sound healing is a performance of live, acoustic healing music. Depending on the practitioner, sound healing may involve the use of crystal singing bowls, Tibetan bowls, chimes, harp, guitar, gentle drums, vocals and other obscure and beautiful instruments.​ The music created is tuned to healing frequencies, like 432Hz and 528Hz, which have been studied to show many positive benefits to those who listen. At the microscopic level, your body is brimming with atoms, cells, organs and tissues that constantly emit subtle electro-magnetic frequencies. Even your emotions and thoughts are electro-magnetic. In sound healing, the vibrations of the music retune the frequencies of your body, thoughts and emotions into a more balanced state. Similar to the above picture from our studio, during your massage, a sound therapist will provide a customized soundscape of healing frequencies that will fill the entire space, resonating through your body and mind for a profound therapeutic experience. The combination of hands on therapy while receiving live sound healing often provides an ethereal and transcendent state of being.
