At Breathe, we believe that all professional modalities of massage are therapeutic and understand the art of combining several massage styles into one treatment for a wonderfully unique and rejuvenating experience.
Whether you want to relax, relieve pain, improve sleep or all of those things, our therapists are fantastic at listening to your needs and creating customized treatment plans just for you. The following modalities, or styles, of massage are not an exhaustive list of what we offer but are commonly requested. Visit our Massage Therapists page to find the perfect practitioner for you.
This lighter style of therapy increases circulation and relaxation, while decreasing tension, aches and pains. It is often the basis of therapeutic massage treatments, used to warm the muscles and connective tissues by applying oil or creme to the body with light to medium pressure. Swedish massage is deeply relaxing and therefore highly meditative.
Deep Tissue Massage
This practice is wonderful for relieving pain and increasing range of motion in the joints. The massage therapist may use forearms, elbows and hands to apply firm pressure in order to access the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissues in the body. Deep Tissue can be used in conjunction with Swedish massage or by itself. It is a great modality for targeting specific conditions such a frozen shoulder or sciatica, and also for injury or surgery recovery.
Designed specifically for expectant mothers, this style of massage uses bolsters and pillows either in the side-lying position or reclined on a soft wedge. Side-lying and reclined massage are also great options for non-pregnant clients who may have difficulty or experience discomfort when lying on the table face up on their back or face down upon their abdomen.
Reiki Energy Therapy
Reiki is a Japanese form of energy work that offers holistic support to each client. The practitioner applies low frequency waves through their hands, either hovering over or gently touching the body. During these sessions in particular, there is often little conversation to allow a quiet space for both the practitioner and client to focus their energies on creating balance and healing. Physically, Reiki relaxes stressed muscles, decreases pain and accelerates healing. On the emotional level, it reduces anxiety and stress and increases a sense of well-being. Spiritually, Reiki clients often state that they feel reborn and are better focused on living life intentionally.
Spinal Raindrop Therapy
Enjoy the powerful and uplifting experience of Spinal Raindrop Therapy! So much can be said about this treatment, which focuses on spinal health and involves the topical application of pure essential oils directly to the feet, spine and surrounding muscle and connective tissues. Paired with gentle massage and stretching techniques, this practice is wonderful for relieving pain and creating a deeper sense of overall wellness.

Although we do not bill insurance directly, some insurance clients are still able to reap the benefits of amazing massage therapy at Breathe and get reimbursed by their insurance companies later. Basically, a client pays us up front for the service, along with a $6 invoicing fee. We create an invoice using a program called "Superbill" and deliver this to the client, who then sends the information to their insurance company as required. Each insurance company operates differently. Sometimes the invoice is not necessary, with a receipt showing proof of payment being enough. Other times, the insurance company requires additional information, such as copies of client charts. Please speak directly with your insurance provider to find out if this option will be a good fit for you. If so, we are happy to create invoices and copies of charts for you as needed. Please give us a heads up at the time of booking your appointment (you can place a note if requesting an appointment online) so that we can prepare an insurance invoice for you. Thank you!
