If you've been in an auto accident, you are likely eligible to receive fully covered massage therapy treatments through a PIP auto insurance policy. Our healthcare team is here to guide you on this journey, and it only takes a couple basic steps to get started as follows:

1. Obtain a prescription for massage therapy

   • If you haven't yet, visit a referring provider, such as a physical therapist, primary care physician or any medical professional who is able to diagnose and provide you with a prescription for massage

   • Ensure that your provider includes the following details on your prescription: ICD-10 diagnosis code(s), CPT code(s), and a prescribed duration and frequency for massage treatments

2. Open an auto insurance claim

   • Whether through your auto insurance or that of another party who was involved in the accident, please provide us with the name of the insurance company, your claim number, your claim manager name and phone number and the date of the incident​

 

As soon as we get this info from you, we'll begin verification of your benefits and get you booked for massage treatments based on your prescription (often multiple per week!) Although it's something we're considering for the future, we currently aren't billing private health insurance; HOWEVER, many of our clients successfully use their **HSA (Health Savings Account) and **FSA (Flexible Spending Account) cards to pay for their massages with us. We ALSO have a reimbursement option that's three easy steps:

​

1. You pay for the service and $2 invoice fee *the latter only if needed

2. We create and provide to you the reimbursement invoice

3. You send the invoice to your insurance for reimbursement

 

Because private health insurance companies often update their policies, please check with them to find out what they allow and require for massage service coverage. *Sometimes all you need is a receipt to show proof of purchase for reimbursement. **Sometimes HSA and FSA cards do not work at our facility, so you may need to bring a back up payment method. It's always best to call your card provider and request that Breathe Wellness Company be added to their accepted merchant list of healthcare businesses. Most of our clients have success with HSA and FSA as well as reimbursements.
